Before and After

We all see the same things but how we interpret these things (along with a knowledgeable, intentional approach on light, composition, colour and post processing) makes us different and unique.

~ Baby on a Swing ~

Baby on a swing portraits are achieved by compositing two (sometimes more) images together. Baby was on a safe level, with a spotter nearby for added safety. In my studio, baby's safety is top priority, always.

~ New York Workshop ~

This was shot at my New York workshop where studio is obviously not my studio, hence the light is different. But because I use the same colour tones as I use in my studio, the resulting image is consistent to the images I take back inAustralia. Consistency is key in establishing your style and brand.

~ Baby in a Cloud ~

Specs - Canon 5D Mark III, Canon EF35 F1.4L
1/200 sec; f/2.2; ISO 400

~ Baby on a Nest ~

~lack of natural light~

The biggest dilemma with natural light is how sunlight varies depending on the season, location, time of day and weather. This was shot on a particularly dark day, there was no sun and the clouds were dark. It seemed like 5pm in the studio. I have to crank my ISO to 1250 which was way higher than my normal 200-400.

One of my proudest before and after. I had a vision, we made it happen and now "SHE" is famous lol :)

Whippoorwillnest Babies

These gorgeous babies and these stunning bonnets have a special place in my heart. The talent behind these beautiful bonnets is Brandi from Whippoorwill Nest Boutique. Brandi has carved out a niche in the world of baby bonnets with a creativity and personal distinction that is unrivaled. Her masterpieces are sought after by many photographers and I am so honoured to own a few of them. Her bonnets are a must for my baby sessions.

7 month old Jasmine

Jasmine took my breath away the moment I laid eyes on her. With her stunning blue eyes, gorgeous serious face, chubby legs, & adorable arm rolls I was hooked and I wanted to keep her! She was one of my mini session babies and I've asked her to come back to model bonnets for me.

She had her eyes set on Mum most of the time but the few times  I've captured her looking through my lens are some of my all time favourite images. Her gaze was captivating! Despite her oh so serious look (which I love so much), she gave me plenty of smiles looking so sweet and very cute!  She also rocked these amazing Whippoorwill Nest's bonnets, it was like these bonnets were made for her! In fact, the green and pink bonnet you see below was named after her. They suit her perfectly!
